“Grandma, when is your birthday? “ James asked the old
lady.
“December 20,” grandma answered with a big smile.
“ Whaoooouuu, five days before Christmas,” James noticed .
“Yeah, I will turn ninety year old,” said grandma proudly.
“That’s awesome! I am only twelve. Do you think I will live
as long as like you?” James asked.
“I wish you a long and happy life grandson”.
“Guess what grandma! Yesterday my brother Gary and I did
some researches on Google. Unfortunately we did not find anything about you”.
“What’s Google?” grandma
replied astonished.
“You mean, you don’t know Google “, said Gary his eyes wild
open.
“I don’t know Google, I am serious”
“Well, Google is an internet search engine. It helps you
find everything you need “James explained.
“What Google has to do with me?” grandma asked.
“At school, our social study teacher said that people who impact
the world can be found on Google. Le problem is that we did not find anything
on you. What have you done all those years?” the boys asked her.
Grandma was silent. To her embarrassment, tears flooded her
eyes.
“Why are you crying? What’s wrong? “James asked in a
fearful voice.
“Sorry Grandma. We did not mean to embarrass you”, Gary said hanging her a handkerchief.
“My grandsons, don’t do the same mistakes I did”, the old lady said softly.
“What do you mean grandma,” the boys inquired.
Grandma lowered her eyes and took a deep breathe.
“My dream was to create an organization to help orphan children.
I had the dream since I was in College. Unfortunately my dream never
became reality because…”
Grandma burst in tears the second time.
“Why your dream never became reality,” the boys pressed.
“Because I always put it off… I have procrastinated all my life.
I am so sorry “regretted grandma.
“But you are still alive grandma, it’s never late,” James encouraged her.
“No, grandson, I am too old. I have no strength and energy to pursue my dream”.
“That is sad. The world will never know what you were capable of”, James said.
“And your name will never be found on Google like many people who
never chase their dreams”, Gary added.
